The man, in his 50's sustained a serious head injury after his head was clipped by th subway at Osgoode Subway Station

A man waiting for the subway at Osgoode station platform had his head clipped by an incoming train Monday evening.

EMS officials said a man in his 50s was taken to hospital with a traumatic head injury shortly after 5 p.m.

Witnesses said the man leaned over as the northbound train entered the station. The force propelled him backward. Stunned bystanders formed a crowd around the injured man as he lay on the platform with blood pooling around his head.

First responders said the man was unaccompanied. Subway service along the Yonge-University-Spadina line was delayed for almost half an hour while police investigated.
