A woman has died after she was hit and dragged by a car in Scarborough Saturday morning.

The 65-year-old was on the sidewalk heading southbound on Birchmount Rd., south of St. Clair Ave. E, at 10:40 a.m. when the driver of a blue Chevrolet exited a driveway near Zenith Dr. and hit her.

The car dragged the victim’s body nearly 15 metres into the middle of the road.

Paramedics rushed the woman to hospital where she later died of her injuries.

The driver, a 59-year-old woman, has not been charged yet as Traffic Services hasn’t completed their investigation. Police said the driver is co-operating with police.
