Toronto Streets Closed for Three (3) Events


Three special events this weekend will involve road closures. Residents and visitors are encouraged to come out and enjoy the event. Businesses in the affected areas are open to pedestrian traffic but some roads will be closed to motorists.

Festivals and other special events are important to the city, injecting hundreds of millions of dollars annually into Toronto’s economy, and they are enjoyed each year by local residents.

In addition to road closures related to special events, there is a significant amount of road work taking place in the city. People are encouraged to take public transit as a greener, faster and more affordable way of getting to their destinations. Taste of the Kingsway will close streets in and around Bloor Street West this weekend. Above - corner of Bloor Street West and Brentwood Road North in Etobicoke

Taste of the Kingsway – Saturday and Sunday closures:
Bloor Street West from Prince Edward Drive North to Montgomery Road will be closed from Saturday, September 10 at 6 a.m. to Sunday, September 11 at 11:59 p.m. A series of full and partial road closures will also take place in the surrounding area to accommodate Taste of the Kingsway.

Chinatown Festival – Saturday and Sunday closures:
The northbound lanes of Spadina Avenue from College Street to Dundas Street will be closed on Saturday, September 10 from 7 a.m. to midnight and Sunday, September 11 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. to accommodate this festival.

Cabbagetown Festival – Saturday and Sunday closures:
• Parliament Street from Gerrard Street to Wellesley Street will be closed in both directions on Saturday, September 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
• Parliament Street from Carlton Street to Wellesley Street will be closed on Sunday, September 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
