Toronto police will be targeting what are considered the big four killers on our roads as Canada Road Safety Week kicks off Tuesday.
The campaign is aimed at making Canada’s roads the safest in the world.
Toronto police will focus on impaired operation by alcohol or drug, failure or improper use of seatbelts, distracted driving and aggressive driving.
They will also be paying special attention to pedestrian offences, failure or improper use of seatbelts, aggressive driving, and of course the use of hand-held devices while driving.
This comes a day after provincial police announced they had laid 180 alcohol-related over the last 30 days on GTA highways.
The campaign runs through to next Monday.
