A boulevard in Timmins has earned the dubious distinction of taking both the first and second spots in the Canadian Automobile Association’s annual Ontario’s Worst Roads list.
Algonquin Blvd. W. in Timmins topped the list, followed by Algonquin Blvd. E. in second place.
Toronto’s Dufferin St. came in third, marking the first time in four years that it hasn’t been number one.
Just two Toronto roads are included in this year’s top 10 – the other one is Bayview Ave. – a marked improvement from the 2014, when seven of the worst roads were found in the city.
CAA said the results of this year’s poll were reviewed and verified by the Ontario Road Builders’ Association.
It also released region-specific top 5 lists. In Toronto, the worst 5 also included Markham Rd., Kipling Ave., and Lawrence Ave. E.
CAA kicked off the campaign in March. It said the names of more than 2,000 Ontario roads were submitted.
Since launching the campaign in 2003, Dufferin has made the list nine times.
Here are CAA’s Worst Roads in Ontario for 2015:
