On Wednesday, September 21, 2011, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., the Toronto Police Service completed a commercial vehicle inspection on Lakeshore Boulevard East, at Coxwell Avenue, with a focus on commercial vehicles, heavy trucks, tow trucks and taxi cabs.

Inspections Conducted and Charges Laid:

  • 199 vehicles were inspected
  • 148 Highway Traffic Act charges were issued, including Municipal Licensing Offences
  • One (1) commercial vehicle driver was issued a three−day licence suspension for failing a breath testThe Toronto Police Service is reminding commercial vehicle operators to ensure they keep their required documents in order and always complete a circle safety check of their vehicle prior to starting their day.
