Distracted Driving – 1 Day Blitz in Don Mills

Update:

Toronto Police (53/54 Divisions) conducted a two (2) hour “Distracted Driving” blitz yesterday in the Don Mills area. Police commenced enforcement at the intersections of Don Mills Road/Overlea Boulevard and Overlea Boulevard/Thorncliffe Park Drive.

Police managed to lay 74 charges For Distracted Driving Related Offenses.

Here is a breakdown of those offences:

  • Drive — hand held communication device, 48 offence notices
  • Drive – display screen visible to driver, one offence notice
  • Distracted related — hazardous offences, 25 offence notices
  • Drive while license under suspension, one notice
  • 54 Division Traffic Officer Sgt. Jack West was there:
